GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Work is underway at the future home of the Brown County East Branch Library.
Located next door to the current branch, crews will work to transform the former Titletown Fitness building, at 2253 Main Street, to the new 16,500 square foot library.
Officials say this expansion was long overdue as the library desperately needed more space and modernization.
The new library will contain adult reading areas, a young adult area, a children’s area, meeting and study rooms, and a calming room. A new marketplace will feature a fireplace and a coffee nook. High-speed WiFi, checkout stations, computers, and a business center will also be offered.
Exterior amenities include a drive-up window, an outdoor garden/green space, and ample parking for library patrons. The outdoor commons area will showcase native plantings, a play space designed for children, a pathway, and a variety of seating.

The new library is expected to open in October 2023.
