OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A trial began on Tuesday in Winnebago County Court for a man who allegedly stabbed a police liaison officer at Oshkosh West High School in December of 2019.
Jury selection took place Monday for Grant Fuhrman; who allegedly stabbed Officer Mike Wissink. Wissink then shot Fuhrman to stop the attack. The first witness to take the stand, Oshkosh West math teacher Kenneth Levine, described what he did after finding Fuhrman and Wissink both injured.
“I tried banging on the classroom doors to see if someone would come, and they didn’t, because they were doing what they were supposed to do. Then I ran down to the nurse’s office, tried banging on that door and yelling for a tourniquet, and realized that they’re not going to come either because they’re doing what they’re supposed to do. So I ran back to Mike’s room and I used my belt as a tourniquet.” said Levine.
Fuhrman is charged with one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide for the incident; the trial will continue throughout this week.
