Henry VIII’s Ex-Wives Take Center Stage at Fox Cities PAC in SIX

APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — The six ex-wives of Henry VIII are spending some time at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton this weekend; as they get a chance to re-tell her-story.

SIX is a musical that re-imagines each of the historic queens as modern pop icons in an electric explosion of energy and excitement.  Catherine of Aragon is Beyoncé, Anne Boleyn is Avril Lavigne, Jane Seymour is Adele, Anne of Cleves is Lizzo, Catherine Howard is Ariana Grande, and Catherine Parr is Alicia Keys.  In the show, the queens form a pop group and write an album detailing each of their experiences with Henry VIII.

Sydney Parra, who plays Catherine Parr, says SIX captures a sense of feminism and diversity.

“You rarely get to see this many women on stage at once also carrying parts that are equal in weight,” said Parra.  “You rarely get to see this much diversity on a stage as well”.
