OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Oshkosh 13-year-old is ready to begin thinking about his plans for his next Christmas fundraiser, after presenting a check for over $4,500 Monday.
Brody Enli says his efforts all began when he was just 7-years-old and his parents allowed him to decorate the outside of their house for Christmas. From there, he learned how to synchronize the lights to music and kept growing until he was able to turn it into a charity as well.
This year, Enli was able to raise over $4,500 with his lights display to benefit the Oshkosh Kids Foundation.
That wasn’t all, though — he also collected over a 150 pounds of food for the Oshkosh Community Food Pantry and over 600 books for the Oshkosh Area United Way.
And his motivation is simple.
“I love to be able to help the community with my passion and talents. And I also…” After a pause, he admitted, “Um, I don’t really have an also, actually.”
For him, it really is that simple. Enli has always loved computers and electronics, and he’s turned that love into something to benefit others.
Enli also said that he loves helping kids because he is one himself.
