KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – You may notice something familiar on display at the Kaukauna Public Library.
The library invites the community to check out its temporary exhibit, titled, “The Museum of the Lost.”
It’s a collection of lost and found items left behind at the library over the past year. It includes water bottles, shoes, hats and headphones.
Library staff gave each item a unique name and description, designed to make it entertaining and to get people to claim their things.
Jenny Schink, the communications coordinator at the library, says they were inspired by another library in the Midwest that did a similar exhibit.
“There is some thought that librarians are kind of serious and boring, but we are in fact very silly and creative,” Schink said.
If you see an item that’s yours, go ahead and take it. At the end of two weeks, any remaining items will be donated.
“Even if you don’t have a lost and found item, at least you can be entertained by our display,” Schink said.
So far, the exhibit has gotten smaller; one item was claimed early Monday morning.
