GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A shooting in December on Green Bay’s east side is now a homicide after one of the victims died, police said Wednesday.
Police closed down a stretch of Smith Street for much of the day Wednesday as they worked at a house to make contact with someone they thought might have been involved with the Dec. 20 shooting.
Police are still on the scene on Green Bay’s east side after someone voluntarily came out of a house, where police had been working to make contact with someone who may be connected to a recent shooting.
Someone came out of the house voluntarily and was arrested on an outstanding warrant, but was not the person police were looking for.
But a 24 year old man police believe was the shooter was picked up in Oconto County.
The shooting Dec. 20 in the 1400 block of Smith Street sent three people to the hospital: two men from Green Bay. ages 42 and 23, and a 41-year-old man from Peoria, Illinois.
The 42-year-old Green Bay man has since died.
