GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Sparked by big plays from the defense, a special teams kickoff return for a touchdown, and a strong running game, the Green Bay Packers trounce the Minnesota Vikings 41-17 at Lambeau Field Sunday.
The victory was Green Bay’s 4th in a row and improves the Packers record to 8 & 8. Best of all, the Cleveland Browns win over the Washington Commanders means the Packers do not need anyone else’s help. Beat the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field next weekend, the closing weekend of the NFL regular season, and Green Bay sneaks in to the NFC Playoffs as the number 7 seed.
Things looked bad early in the first quarter when the Vikings blocked a punt and ran it back to the one yard line. But the Packers defense held and only gave up a field and were down 3-0. The ensuing kickoff to Green Bay was caught by Keisean Nixon in the end zone and he ran it out.
100 yards later he was in the Vikings end zone with a touchdown to put the Packers up 7-3 and the Green & Gold never looked back.
