NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Neenah Police Department is working to make sure you get home safely this New Year’s Eve.
The department shared on Twitter Wednesday that it would be hiring a local cab company to provide rides this weekend, hoping to prevent drunk driving.
Rides will be available between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
There are a few conditions to these free rides:
- Pick up will only happen at Neenah businesses
- The person must be returning to their home or wherever they are staying
- Delivery area must be south of Broad Street or Winchester Road, east of Highway 76 and north of Highway GG
Anyone looking for a ride this New Year’s Eve should call (920) 225-9191 to utilize the free service.
The Tavern League of Wisconsin also has a program that offers free safe rides home. To locate your nearest ride provider, click here.
Neenah police say there is no excuse for driving impaired, as people have options to make sure they aren’t drunk behind the wheel.
