DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Door County shop is frozen solid after Lake Michigan’s waves covered it in water last week during the winter storms.
Even with winds reaching up to 50 miles per hour and temperatures remaining in the teens, Simply Scandinavian in Gills Rock withstood the rough weather, but the storm’s aftermath could still be detrimental.
She says that while the shop looks beautiful covered in ice, she’s worried.
“So, even though the Mother Nature has created some incredible artwork for us, it is a bit worrisome due to the weight that’s on the building,” said Sannikas. “But we’re betting on the brave little shop doing just fine with its tough Nordic genes and pulling through for us.”
With warm temperatures in the forecast this week, some of the ice will likely melt and remove part of the weight off of the little shop. But it could take time to see the entirety of Simply Scandinavian.
