Packers’ Playoff Hopes Remain Alive on the Field and For Fans

ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay Packers fans are feeling very optimistic about the team’s chances heading into these next few games.

They’re hopeful the team will put in the work to beat the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday.

“I mean, since we came back (from) 20-10 against the Miami Dolphins to win 26-20, I think that we would have a chance to win against the Vikings,” says fan Ethan Beale.

Kelly Hewitt, manager of Stadium View Bar and Grill, agrees.

“I think the Packers are going to kick some butt because the Vikings are going to come in with an attitude that they’re going to win, and miracles happen all the time at Lambeau Field,” says Hewitt.

She also thinks the team will also make it to playoffs and win the Super Bowl.

“I kind of feel like this is 12 years ago when Aaron Rodgers was hurt — we had a really not the best season, and then we ended up winning the Super Bowl,” says Hewitt.

Others are not as confident but will continue rooting for the team.

“I don’t think its real likely, but I hope they go in to the playoffs, a little deeper than what they can. I do believe Philadelphia is going to end up in the Super Bowl against either Buffalo or Kansas City,” says fan Dane Karnitz.

Fans talked about various things they think the Packers need to work on in order to win against the Vikings on Sunday and secure a playoff spot.

“I think it would be a lot of the defense, but I think we just need to get Rodgers back into that pocket and throwing the ball better to the wide receivers and stuff,” says fan Noah Weatherspoon.

“The offensive line is the big thing; the defense would be the secondary,” says Karnitz.

“I’ve been seeing the defense a lot, and on big third down situations, like third and eight, they kind of get cocky and stuff,” says Beale.

Certain Vikings players worry Packer fans.

“(Wide receiver) Justin Jefferson for sure,” says Weatherspoon.

“Number 55 (former Packers linebacker Za’Darius Smith),” says Karnitz.

“(Quarterback Kirk) Cousins is definitely one and Justin Jefferson,” says Beale.

Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings is at 3:25 p.m. at home.
