GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Tuesday was an exciting day for patients at HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital; Green Bay Firefighters from Local 141 and the Green Bay Metro Fire Department visited the hospital with Santa Claus and brought presents and holiday cheer to the kids. Presents were provided by Central Church in Green Bay.
Ryan Hintz is the President of Green Bay Area Firefighters local 141.
“You see them smile and maybe they forget for a bit what’s going on in their life that day and what they’re fighting,” said Hintz. “To spread a little Christmas joy and happiness; You can’t put a price tag on that.”
Three year old Neveah is in the hospital with RSV, but this isn’t her first holiday season at St. Vincent. Her mother, Jennifer Ball, said it’s amazing for the fire department to think of others who are going through a hard time.
“This always makes her day.” said Ball. “I know she isn’t feeling very well right now, but we will talk about it later and we will play with the toys.”
Gifts for the kids included stuffed animals, electronics, board games, and more.
