ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Ashwaubenon’s new Hy-Vee will open Tuesday at 6 a.m. Located in the former Shopko in Bay Park Square, Hy-Vee isn’t just a grocery store. While the store includes traditional grocery products, Hy-Vee also features a pharmacy, dining options, clothing, a sports shop, and much more.
Hy-Vee will include a Scan-and-Go check out option “Download the app first. Then while you’re shopping, scan the items and put them in the bag.” said district store director Mike Landuyt. “Once you get up front, scan the QR code, it’ll processes your payment, and then you’re out the door.”
Although this is the biggest Hy-Vee across the Midwest at 125 thousand square feet, the store has exceeded it’s hiring goal. 604 people are working at this location, and only 12 of those employees came from other Hy-Vee locations.
The first 300 customers in the store today will leave with swag bags.
