GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is getting ready for its biggest fundraiser of the year.
It’s the Walk for Wildlife and it’s this weekend.
The event helps raise the necessary funds for staff to care for injured animals and help them get back to the wild where they belong.
People can enjoy a 2.5 mile scene walk on the facility’s trails and get up close to wildlife ambassadors.
People can register online or at the event.
It’s coming up on Saturday, September 17th and it goes from 8 a.m. to noon.
Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary has been providing wildlife rehabilitation for 86 years.
More than 6,000 orphaned, injured or ill animals are cared for by sanctuary staff per year, the biggest intake in the state of Wisconsin.
