GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Beginning July 6, Prevea Health will provide COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as 6 months old at their Wisconsin locations.
This decision follows approvals and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
The FDA first authorized vaccinations for children between 6 months and 5 years on June 17. Parents remain divided on this decision.
For those with appointments already scheduled for a Prevea doctor’s visit, the COVID-19 vaccine can be provided at that appointment beginning July 6.
As of Tuesday, those without an appointment can schedule their vaccination by calling their Prevea Health provider.
Those interested do not need to already be established with Prevea nor have insurance to receive the free vaccine. Those without a Prevea provider, should call 1-833-344-4373 to schedule a vaccination appointment.
Prevea encourages families to speak with their child’s doctor about the COVID-19 vaccination.
