GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – You could soon adopt your own park or trail in the city of Green Bay.
Dan Ditscheit, the city’s parks director, says a program was created after a group approached the city about adopting part of a trail.
Under the new plan, you have to fill out an application and organize three days where your group does something to improve your park or trail.
“Those activities could range from picking up garbage to beautification to invasive species removal or another project that they have in mind that we could review on a case by case basis,” said Ditscheit.
In exchange for the work, the city will put up two signs along the trail or in the park, acknowledging the group or business.
The city council is expected to approve the plan at its meeting on Tuesday.
