APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An area business is making a difference in the home of a veteran.
Maria Nodich, a U.S. Army veteran, received a new roof and gutter system from Security-Luebke Roofing Wednesday.
It’s part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, a nationwide project to show appreciation and honor veterans who served in the war.
Nodich has served 12 years and her husband is a veteran too.
Since the program started in 2016, more than 325 military members have received new roofs.
The response has been very noticeable by those who take part.
“Huge, there’s a big need and we wish we could give to more. It’s a very special thing that we can give. Your home is your covering for all your belongings and everything that you care about and we want to just provide a safe environment for individuals,” said director of sales and marketing at Security-Luebke Roofing, Lisa Ortscheid.
Crews have been installing for a few days now and the Nodich’s new roof and gutter system should be complete soon.
