GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Severe storms are in the forecast for this evening throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Warm and sticky air will combine with a cold front moving through the state, creating a big risk for dangerous weather.
“The storm prediction center has us in the level 3 enhanced area for this afternoon,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Scott Cultice. “Which means numerous severe storms are possible, and maybe a few tornados at the onset of the storms.”
Until then, it’s going to be hot.
“Yesterday we had heat indicies in the lower 100s…it won’t be as bad today, but the heat index will definitely be in the 90s,” said Cultice.
The storms are expected to begin moving into the Fox Valley and Green Bay between 5 and 7 tonight.
