GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Prevea Health is officially opening up its new Ambulatory Surgery Center starting next week.
Media were given a tour today of the 33,000 square foot, approximately $23.5 facility on Shawano Avenue in Green Bay.
“This facility is the first in the area that’s a multi-specialty, so it’s very unique. We can offer many different types of cases here,” said Surgery Center’s Director Angie Perronne.
Knee scopes, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, sinus surgery, and more will be provided at the facility.
“Many of these procedures are currently offered by our Prevea Health physicians at our HSHS hospital partners, including St. Vincent and St. Mary’s hospitals,” said Dr. Ashok Rai, President and CEO, Prevea Health. “Our new surgery center allows us continue providing high-quality care for those select procedures, but with the added benefits of lower costs and easier access for patients.”

Perronne says the center will take some elective cases out of the hospitals in order to free up space needed for other patients, such as trauma patients.
Construction began last April, the first surgeries have already been scheduled for this month.
