CHICAGO, ILL (WTAQ) – The Milwaukee Brewers swept a doubleheader from the Chicago Cubs Monday at Wrigley Field. The scores were 7-6 & 3-1.
In game one Milwaukee’s Ethan Small made his major league debut. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings giving up two runs on four hits with four Ks and four walks.
Miguel Sanchez picked up the win and Josh Hader notched his 17th save.
Luis Urias hit a three-run homer in the 7th inning that gave Milwaukee the lead. Jace Peterson and Tyrone Taylor also went deep.
In game two Aaron Ashby picked up his first win of the season with six innings of one run ball with 12 Ks and two walks. Brad Boxberger pitched two scoreless innings & Hader pitched a scoreless ninth for his 18th consecutive save.
Taylor stayed hot with his 6th home run. Victor Caratini also went deep. Rowdy Tellez had the other RBI.
The Brewers are 14 games over 500 at 32-18 and will face the Cubs again tonight…pre game show at 6:30 on WTAQ.
