GREELY, CO (WTAQ-WLUK) — JBS Foods USA has agreed to develop and implement an infectious disease preparedness plan two years after deadly COVID-19 outbreaks at a number of their facilities including the one in Green Bay.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration says JBS will bring in third-party experts to help the company come up with the preparedness plan.
JBS’ Green Bay plant was shut down for more than a week in April and May 2020 during the outbreak. OSHA says a total of 357 cases were confirmed at the Green Bay plant by August 2020, with two workers having died of COVID-19. It was the first major outbreak in Brown County.
The agreement with OSHA covers a total of seven facilities in six states.
