Woman Dies from Injuries Related to Major Crash Along Interstate 41

APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – One person has died from injuries stemming from a crash along Interstate 41 near North Richmond Street on May 3rd.

Appleton Police are reporting the death of 33-year-old Chelsey Jennings of Berlin.

Jennings had been traveling northbound on I-41 as traffic began to back up due to multiple vehicle crashes in the area. Jennings’ vehicle was struck from behind by another northbound vehicle causing her vehicle to overturn in the ditch. Jennings was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

That series of crashes shut down the northbound lanes of the interstate near Appleton for several hours.

Investigators from the Appleton Police Department and members from the Wisconsin State Patrol are diligently working to gather additional information regarding this incident. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Sgt. Kuether at the Appleton Police Department at 920-832-5500.
