GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — It’s been a hot few days, in fact it’s been record-breakingly hot for two days now in Green Bay with temps getting over 90 degrees.
In a normal year, the first day over 90 degrees in Green Bay comes sometime in mid-June, but this year it came on Thursday, and repeated itself on Friday.
“This has only happened one ever time before, having two back-to-back 90-degree days in May,” said Scott Cultice, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Green Bay. “This is one for the record books.”
If you’ve had enough, however, there’s good news ahead.
“Cool air is going to make its way back by probably Sunday, where we’ll see high temperatures in the 60s,” said Cultice.
That’s closer to average May temperatures.
Thursday at around noon, the temperature at Green Bay Austin Straubel Airport was read at 90 degrees. That was repeated Friday.
