GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Today is all about moms.
Around the world, Mother’s Day is being celebrated honoring the mother of the family.
Celebrations took many forms.
In the Fox Valley, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers spent the day making sure moms were treated to a good time.
The second Sunday of May marks a special time for Brianna and Tucker Ropski.
Tucker and his siblings get to celebrate someone, who he says is one of the most important people in his life… his mom.
“She takes care of me,” said Tanner Ropski. “She loves me, she just does everything a mom could do, but better.”
The Timber Rattlers are at home on Mother’s Day this year, so the team decided to plan something.
The Mother’s Day event started off with a brunch for mom, followed by a game against the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
“We were trying to find some cool brunch ideas,” said Brianna Ropski. “We have all boys in the family for kids, so we figured the baseball game would be really fun.”
Ellie and Rylan Wachowiak also came out to the ballpark for brunch and baseball, to celebrate with their mother.
“We love our mom very much,” said Ellie Wachowiak. “She always takes us to fun places and she does my chores for me when I don’t want to do them.”
The National Retail Federation says Mother’s Day spending is expected to be around $31.7 billion this year, which equals about $245 per person on their mom.
But Sunday’s holiday is the day to remember moms, who never run out of love for their families, even if we run out of money to spend on her.
