OCONTO FALLS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A woman who allegedly shot an Oconto Falls police officer is competent to stand trial, a judge ruled Friday. The trial was scheduled for Jan. 6, court records show.
Alisha Kocken, 28, is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and other eight counts for the Aug. 6 confrontation with Officer Nicole Blaskowski.

The competency ruling means Kocken is able to understand the proceedings and assist in her defense. It does not relate to her mental condition at the time of the incident.
Kocken was charged after an incident where police were called to an Oconto Falls home. There was a physical confrontation between Kocken and Officer Blaskowski. At one point, Kocken allegedly grabbed Blaskowski’s gun and shot the officer in the head. She has since been released from the hospital.
