DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Brown County’s community COVID-19 testing site will shut down at the end of the month.
The last day for site at the county fairgrounds in De Pere will be April 30, county health officials said Friday.
“At this time, we are confident that the existing COVID-19 testing resources provided by our healthcare and community partners will be adequate to meet the testing needs of Brown County residents,” Brown County Public Health Officer Anna Nick said in a news release.
“Regardless of vaccination status, we encourage anyone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 to get tested as soon as you are able and stay home. Testing gives us the information we need to know to keep our loved ones healthy and safe.”
Information on testing sites in Brown County can be found online or by calling 1-920-448-6400 and pressing option 3.
Brown County Public Health says if COVID-19 community levels change and testing capacity is exceeded, it may consider reopening a test site.
Brown County isn’t the only community in Northeast Wisconsin to close a testing site. The city of Appleton is closing its testing site at the former Office Max building on the east side Friday, citing a decrease in demand.
