GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — April marks Family Strengthening month in the state.
On Monday, the Department of Children and Families visited Green Bay to help spread the word to prevent child abuse and neglect.
At Family and Childcare Resources of Northeast Wisconsin, an event was held to discuss the importance of building strong families and communities.
“The last two years have been been incredibly tough for kids in a school setting, in a home setting, the economy is uncertain,” said state senator, Andre Jacque of De Pere. “We have so many resources, such a great spirit of volunteers in the community and what we’re here today is to show we’re here to help. There’s a lot of different doors you can come through, there’s no wrong door to be able to get that assistance.”
Brown County executive, Troy Streckenbach, also noted the importance to react with preventative measures.
