GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A former elementary school teacher was charged with two child sexual assault charges for incidents with two students at Beaumont Elementary School.
Kelton Jennings, 26, was charged Wednesday with repeated acts of sexual assault of a child, and first-degree child sexual assault of a child under age 13.
Jennings made an initial court appearance Wednesday, where a May 16 preliminary hearing was scheduled. He remains free on a $10,000 signature bond.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by FOX 11, the incidents happened between Oct. 1 and Feb. 10. The complaint says two students told investigators Jennings touched their chests inappropriately.
Another student told police she witnessed Jennings touch one of the victims.
The criminal complaint does not contain any statements by Jennings.
In a letter to families and staff, the Green Bay Area Public School District said it received an allegation in January of inappropriate student contact against Jennings. As the district and police investigated, another allegation was made. Jennings then resigned from the district, according to the letter.
Jennings was arrested in early March and made a court appearance then, but the charges were not filed until Wednesday.
