GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A global chemicals company is building a special facility in Green Bay.
Nouryon is constructing a plant for Expancel, which will be the first plant of its kind in America.
They specialize in expandable microspheres, which are used as a lightweight filler to make products lighter.
This material will reduce costs and environmental impacts.
At a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, Nouryon says the plant will create jobs within the community.
“Green Bay as a location offers great advantages for this respective logistics. Railway access, access to highway, and then of course a really good labor force that we have access to here,” said Sylvia Winkel Pettersson, Nouryon’s Vice President of Engineered Polymers.
The plant is scheduled to finish by 2023.
