GREENVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A competition that requires generosity just as much as physical strength is hitting a Fox Valley runway again.
Appleton International Airport and Old Glory Honor Flight of Northeast Wisconsin announced the return of the Pulling for Honor fundraising competition this summer.
Teams in the competition are tasked with pulling a 200,000 pound plane 12 feet as fast as they can, while raising money for Old Glory Honor Flight. The flight takes local veterans to Washington D.C. on a one-day trip to see the memorials built in their honor.
Organizers say their goal is to raise $100,000 this year.
This covers the cost to fully fund one flight and enable 100 veterans to experience an unforgettable trip. Upon return, veterans will also receive the welcome home some never had.
Teams can sign up now. Each team is required to raise a minimum of $1,500 in order to take part in the competition.
Volunteers are also encouraged
Pulling for Honor is set for August 22 at the Appleton Flight Center at Appleton International Airport.
