FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Fond du Lac County man was taken into custody, accused of leading authorities on a high-speed chase for more than 11 miles while intoxicated.
It all started around 8:30 p.m. Monday when a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull a vehicle over for a speed violation on Highway 151 near Highway 175 in the town of Fond du Lac.
Once the deputy turned on emergency lights and sirens, the suspect continued to drive at a high rate of speed into the village of Oakfield, driving down numerous side streets.
Once the vehicle got on County Highway D, north of Oakfield, deputies deployed tire deflation devices, bringing the pursuit to an end near Lost Arrow Road.
The driver, a 28-year-old Oakfield man, was taken into custody.
One deputy was taken to the hospital and released for minor injuries from the pursuit.
Two squad cars also received minor damage.
