FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fond du Lac woman will spend more than two years in prison for the death of her 2-month-old daughter.
District Attorney Eric Toney announced Tuesday that Shauntina R. Fuller-Pankey was sentenced to 796 days in prison. She entered an Alford plea in December.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a home on Merrill Avenue on June 25, 2018, because of the girl’s condition. The girl died shortly afterward.
The autopsy revealed the child had a large skull fracture. Fuller-Pankey initially denied any role in the baby’s death, but in an interview with police earlier this month admitted “it is my fault,” the complaint says.
“Shauntina then described trying to get the stroller ready to take the girls for a walk and she must have bumped (the child’s) head getting the stroller ready. Detective Ledger informed Shauntina that bumping her head on the stroller wouldn’t’ cause the injury. Shauntina then said she had the stroller in both hands and RRP’s head hit a wooden door,” the complaint says.
Following her time in prison, Fuller-Pankey will spend 20 years on extended supervision.
