MANITOWOC, WI (METRO) – Some parents in Manitowoc say the move to hold school board meetings online is an attempt to keep them quiet, while school leaders say it’s an attempt to stay safe. The school district last night met online as opposed to in-person.
School Board president Dave Nickels ordered the switch after someone walked on stage at last month’s meeting. That person says he was simply delivering an open records request, he denies he was a threat.
Nickels says he’s shut-down meetings in the past because of other bad behavior.
Some parents in Manitowoc say the school board is trying to silence criticism.
