GREENVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Appleton International Airport on Tuesday.
The airport celebrated the opening of the new Allegiant aircraft base.
Airport officials say the addition of the base will create up to 66 jobs, along with a $50 million investment.
William Rowsell, regional manager for airport affairs, spoke on the reason behind why Allegiant chose Appleton for their base.
“Because of the relationship, the way the community responds to the service and the airport itself.”
Local community stakeholders were also recognized at the ceremony.
