TOWN OF ABRAMS, WI (WTAQ) – An eight-year-old child was killed and another child was injured in an Oconto County crash.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office put out the statement below:
On Thursday, February 24, 2022 at approximately 1:05 AM, the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center was notified of a one vehicle accident on US Highway 41 and 141 near Sampson Road in the Town of Abrams.
A pickup truck, operated by a 34-year-old male, from Suring, WI was traveling northbound on US Highway 41 and 141 when the pickup truck exited on the northbound exit ramp. The vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and continued into the northeast ditch.
The 34-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was transported to a Green Bay Area Hospital, an 11-year-old female passenger was transported to a Green Bay Area Hospital with minor injuries, and an 8-year-old female passenger died at the scene of the crash.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Abrams Fire Department, County Rescue Ambulance, Abrams First Responders, Little Suamico First Responders, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
