GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The two candidates who tied in the primary election for a Green Bay city council seat will cast lots to determine who moves on to the general election.
Andrew Gerlach and Aron Obrecht both received 73 votes in the District 6 primary on Tuesday. That was good for second place behind Steven Campbell’s 164 votes. Paul Boucher was eliminated after receiving 18 votes.
During the tiebreaking procedure Monday, Gerlach and Obrecht will each select a sealed envelope. One envelope will have a piece of paper with the word “winner;” the other envelope will have a blank piece of paper.
The winner advances to face Campbell in the April 5 general election.
Monday’s tiebreaker is set for 10:30 a.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of City Hall.
