APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — There’s a primary election set for today for a number of local elected positions across the state.
Appleton City Clerk Kami Lynch on ‘The Morning News with Matt and Earl’ says to remember what to bring.
“Proof of residence and registration, put the two ‘R words’ together,” Lynch told holds Matt Z and Earl Brooker. “And then separate from that is your photo ID, to prove who you are.”
As providing ID at the polls is a state law, state ID is required. Passports, veterans ID cards, and military ID cards are also accepted as well as student ID cards (alongside proof of enrollment).
It’s not expected to be a very high turnout election, in fact, it’s possible there won’t be anyone on the ballot in your area.
“Use the website myvote.wi.gov. That will show not only if you have an election, but where your polling place is,” Lynch explained.
Redistricting means your typical polling place may no longer be your polling place.
There are a number of city council, village and town board, county board, and school board races on the ballot. Wisconsin voters can register at the polls on election day.
