Tammy Baldwin
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — US Senator Tammy Baldwin spoke only hours after US Forces in Syria apparently killed the leader of ISIS, Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi. The Democratic senator spoke on WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News With Matt and Earl’ saying ISIS has remained a destabilizing force.
“It’s very disturbing, in terms of ISIS acitivity, particularly in eastern Syria,” Baldwin told hosts Matt Z and Earl Brooker. “Particularly in Iraq and other area nations…We have seen increasing activity from ISIS after not being particularly active in recent months.”
Al-Qurashi was killed in the northwest Syrian town of Atme following a shootout with US Troops. Military officials say al-Qurashi detonated a bomb vest which killed civilians.
