WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The search continues for the suspect who led authorities in Winnebago County on two separate chases in three different stolen vehicles.
It all started around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when a Wisconsin State trooper noticed a stolen vehicle traveling on I-41 in the area of Breezewood Lane.
The trooper turned his emergency lights and siren on, in an attempt to get the driver of the stolen vehicle to pull over.
When the driver failed to stop, a pursuit ensued.
The vehicle continued on I-41 and exited onto US Highway 45 before turning onto County Road GG. In the area of Road GG at State Highway 76, the vehicle crashed, officials say.
After crashing, the driver ran away. While law enforcement set up a perimeter, the suspect stole a second vehicle and when the suspect was located, a second pursuit began.
The suspect then crashed a second time in the town of Winneconne and again, ran away.
That’s when the suspect stole a third vehicle and got away, officials say.
The suspect and the third vehicle are still missing. The vehicle is a white 2014 Ford Explorer with the Wisconsin license plate number 178-HEZ.
Troopers and a Winnebago County K9 searched the area for evidence to identify the suspect. Both crashed stolen vehicles have been impounded as evidence and will also be used to attempt to identify the suspect.
