OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Business leaders in Oshkosh are predicting higher sales in 2022, and say they’ll hire more employees — if they can find them.
The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce released the results of its annual business survey Wednesday. More than three-quarters of respondents — 78% — said they expect their 2022 sales to outpace those of 2021, when 63% saw sales increases over the previous year.
Among CEOs, 64% said they plan to hire more workers in 2022, though 75% said they have current job openings unfilled. Sixty-four percent said they have received four or fewer applications per job opening.
Nearly seven in ten manufacturers said they plan to increase raw material inventories in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021.

- 36% said the state of Wisconsin is headed in the right direction
- 22% said the U.S. is heading in the right direction in terms of the business climate
