NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Neenah is bringing back a face mask requirement in city buildings.
Mayor Dean Kaufert announced Thursday the requirement applies to all city employees and visitors, effective Friday. The decision is based on a recent rise in COVID-19 cases among Neenah city employees and the general public, according to Kaufert.
City employees must wear a mask in common areas, when meeting with other employees or when interacting with the public. Masks are not required when an employee is working alone in an office.
Visitors are encouraged — but not required — to wear a mask when entering city buildings. Masks will only be required when entering a specific department within any building, according to Kaufert.
Masks will be available for employees who do not have one. Face shields will also be available for those who need them.
The city will continue to monitor the impact of the virus and adjust the order accordingly.
