GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The local tourism industry is excited about the NFC championship.
The Packers having the first seed in the NFC Playoffs means that they’ll get home field advantage in the playoffs, and that means good things for local tourism.
“The economic impact of each home game is typically right around $15 million,” said Brad Toll, the President of Discover Green Bay. “But we have seen playoff games push up above that.”
He says that the games impact on the economy is felt through nearly every sector.
“We’re not a tremendous tourism destination during the month of January,” Toll told WTAQ. “So having the playoffs come is really fantastic.”
NFL Playoffs start the weekend of the 15th with Wild Card play.
