KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A former lawmaker from the Fox Valley has died.
Bill Vander Loop, a Democrat, represented the Kaukauna area’s 5th Assembly District from 1991-1999.
He spent eight years on the Kaukauna city council before that.
According to his obituary, Vander Loop died at his home last Tuesday.
Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke, R-Kaukauna, who currently holds the 5th District seat, issued this statement:
I am saddened to hear the news of Bill Vander Loop’s passing. Bill was a servant leader who dedicated his life to helping others. He continually strived to make his community a better place, serving his city, state, and country throughout his life. Bill’s legacy lives on through all he accomplished and the impact he had on others. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family during this difficult time.
Vander Loop was 89.
