GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Christmas Day has come and passed – and the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign is on the final stretch for 2021.
The annual campaign kicked off in early November, with the familiar ringing of bells and red collection kettles. Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator Renee Main says they’ve raised about $1 million to help with year-round programs. This year’s goal is $1.396 million.
“Right now, we are projecting about 75% of our goal. We’re about $350,000 short at this time,” Main told WTAQ News. “Our Christmas campaign does actually go through the end of December…I know a lot of places are still looking to donate out of their stocks, crunch some final numbers at their homes or businesses, and they do send us checks or donate online.”
The Salvation Army office is open and accepting holiday donations until 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. To learn more about how to donate by the end of the year, head to SAGreenBay.org.
