ROSENDALE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fond du Lac County company is giving kids in Kentucky a reason to smile this holiday season.
R.A. Pinno Construction in Rosendale collected more than $21,000 worth of toys to send to tornado victims in Kentucky.
Last week, a series of tornados ripped across the South and Midwest, killing at least 90 people and leveling homes and businesses.
Members of R.A. Pinno Construction will deliver the toys to residents of Hopkins County, Kentucky on Tuesday.
Curt Semenas of R.A. Pinno Construction says the company initially had a goal to raise just $5,000 to $10,000 but it grew to something bigger as more people wanted to help.
“We just wanted to give everybody a good Christmas here and with the devastation there, they’re going to be without homes, without toys, so we wanted to make sure they have a great Christmas like our kids are going to have a good Christmas,” he said.
The kids of R.A. Pinno Construction employees got together and shopped at local stores for the toys.
When the toys get to Kentucky, they will be set up in a building so parents can pick and choose the toys that will suit their children.
