GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Security changes are coming to Preble High School after multiple threats of violence were made this week.
In a letter sent to families Friday, school officials say students will return on Monday, with changes being implemented for Monday-Thursday.
The following changes are being made:
- Students will only be able to enter and exit the school using door 1 and door 21 throughout the day. The only exception would be for an emergency.
- Student backpacks will not be allowed in the building. Students should only bring necessary items for school.
- Drawstring bags will be provided for all students upon arriving Monday. Students can carry them to classes.
- Student identification will be verified when entering the school. Students will be required to show their ID each time they enter or wait to have their identification verified.
- Dinner will be served via take-home bag pickup. It will be in a to-go format available at doors 1 and 21.
School officials will assess whether the protocols will continue after the winter break.
