GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – School leaders across the state are telling parents there are no specific threats to any school in Wisconsin today.
An anonymous Tik Tok threat spoke of a day of violence at schools today, but no specifics.
“We are monitoring social media and we are aware of the nationwide threat occurring on December 17th.”
Green Bay Police Commander Kevin Warych says they will checkout any school threat. And they’ve been successful. Four students facing charges of making terrorist threats after online messages targeting violence at Preble High School.
“Our clearance rates are pretty high on this. Investigators have been working long hours through the night to identify and locate these people.”
Warych promises they’ll continue working with the schools, whether it’s online or increasing visibility on school property.
“So that we can find some closure for all these students, parents….and most importantly hope these people accountable for these actions.”
The threat is not just in Wisconsin, schools across the country are telling their parents the same thing. Many school districts say they will have more police officers at or near their buildings just in case.
