GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Brown County Library’s East Branch is going to be moving…next door.
The Library system has purchased the old Titletown Fitness building at 2253 Main St.
Sue Lagerman is the library’s community engagement manager and says it’s a needed move.
“The east side of Green Bay is growing and continues to grow,” Lagerman told WTAQ. “We knew we needed more space. The space we’re in right now is cramped.”
The new, 16,300 square foot space is expected to include a number of new features.
“What we have found, and we have accommodated this in our larger locations, study rooms, meeting spaces, this is what the community has told us they want,” said Lagerman.
The county has allocated $20 million to the project and expects to raise an additional $8 million through a naming rights campaign. It’s expected to be complete by the third quarter of 2023.
WTAQ’s Rob Sussman contributed to this report.
