GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Grand Chute Fire Department says it is now providing the latest Advanced Life Support pre-hospital patient care on every 911 call.
The fire department announced the upgrade Thursday at a press conference.
The upgrade will provide at least one paramedic, state-of-the-art advanced life support equipment and medications on each first-responding fire truck.
A local doctor with Aurora Baycare says the new upgrade can help with many situations.
“In those few select cases when we can now have advanced techniques on scene, or advanced cardiac drugs, it potentially increases the chance of survival,” emergency medicine physician Dr. Ryan Murphy said. “So that’s really the goal, is to provide every opportunity to people in the community to have the best chance for the best outcome.”
GCFD will still be partnering with the regional ambulance service for patient transport to hospitals.
