GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Temperatures have fallen significantly in Northeast Wisconsin.
It’s thanks to a large mass of arctic air that’s been blown into the area.
“Behind a strong low pressure system, gusty northwest winds have brought in a colder airmass,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Mike Cellitti. “It will settle over the area for the next couple of days.”
Highs in the mid-teens and early 20s should be expected along with single-digit low temps.
The overnight low is just three degrees in Green Bay, up to five in the Fox Valley. Wind chill will make it feel well below zero.
While the air will dissipate and temps are expected to return to normal by Thursday, but Cellitti says that doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods just yet.
“We are watching a winter storm system for late this week,” he said Monday. “Thursday-to-Friday time period. It’s something anyone with travel plans may want to stay tuned for.”
Monday night is expected to be the coldest night in Green Bay in ten months.
