ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Sports betting at Oneida Casino is set to kick off.
Tribal leaders have scheduled a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new offering on Tuesday morning. Oneida Bingo Queens Sandra Brehmer and Alma Webster are scheduled to place the first bets.
The casino will be the first place in Wisconsin to offer legal sports betting. The Oneida Nation in July announced an amendment to its compact with the state which allows wagering on sports events.
Betting was originally scheduled to begin in September, but supply chain issues led to a delay in some of the equipment arriving at the casino.
Sports betting will be offered at the Main Casino, 2040 Airport Dr. Hours are 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Betting will open at 9 a.m. on days when there is a Green Bay Packers home game.
